Faterny

I created Faterny to be more than just a recipe website. My goal was to build a digital experience that reflects the spirit of Ramadan while solving a common daily question: "What should we cook for Iftar today?" The Vision Behind the Project I focused on User-Centered Design. During Ramadan, people want to find information quickly without scrolling through clutter. I designed the site with a simple layout that puts the food photos and instructions front and center, making the cooking process stress-free. Why I Chose These Technologies I made specific technical choices to ensure the site is fast, reliable, and easy to use: Modern Web Framework & Hosting (Next.js / Vercel): I used these tools to ensure the website loads instantly. Speed is a top priority for a cooking site because users are often checking recipes in the kitchen with limited time. Mobile-First Approach: Since most people use their phones while cooking, I built the interface to be fully responsive. It looks and works perfectly on any screen size, from small smartphones to large desktops. Clean & Scalable Code: I built the site using a "component-based" structure. This makes the code organized and allows me to easily add new features or more recipes in the future without rebuilding the whole system. Design & Style Philosophy The design isn't just about looking good; it's about the user’s feeling: Color Palette: I chose warm, inviting colors that match the Ramadan theme and make the food look more appetizing. Minimalism: I kept the interface clean. By removing distractions, the user can focus entirely on the delicious recipes and the cooking steps. The Value of This Project With Faterny, I demonstrated my ability to take a traditional idea (a cookbook) and turn it into a modern, high-performance web app. It shows my skills in: UI/UX Design: Creating a beautiful and functional interface. Frontend Development: Writing clean, efficient code. Problem Solving: Building a practical tool that serves a real cultural need.
